Rain delay! (last day in Oz)

Well, they must have known it was our last day in Australia, because it is raining cats and dogs! It IS winter here, and it has been raining on and off since we got to Sydney, but today it started early this morning and hasn't stopped. We had to cancel our ferry trip to Manly beach on Sydney Harbour's (notice the "u" in "harbour", we're true Aussies now!) north coast, because the rain would have made the trip including the ferry ride completely miserable. We did get to visit Chinatown and do some shopping, though, and the rain will definitely not interrupt our plans to see "The Producers" tonight!

One of the best sightseeing decisions we made was to sign up for two days on the Sydney Explorer tour bus. Basically for one flat fee, you can ride the S.E. bus all day to different tourist points around the city. We saw The Sydney Tower, Opera House, Australia museum, Star City casino (Lady Anne interrupts: I won $37! Woohoo! Partially made up for Wilmer losing $50!), Mrs. Macquarie's chair (L.A. interrupts AGAIN: I made sure we went back to find the actual chair instead of walking around it like we did the first time), The Rocks (old colonial neighborhood), Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney Fish Market (GREAT seafood...recommend going here if you're ever in Sydney), National Maritime Museum, Darling Harbour, and King Street Wharf. Although we didn't take the bus there, we saw a performance of the Sydney Symphony in the Sydney Opera House. Great decision, that place is amazing!

Yesterday we took the ferry to Taronga Zoo in the morning. Taronga Zoo is basically a separate island in Sydney Harbour, and the whole thing is a zoo. It reminded me of Jurassic Park except really boring. The ferry ride was fun and we got to ride a cable car to the top, but I'll take the San Diego Zoo any day! We walked all over Sydney the rest of the day.

Which leads us to today. Tomorrow we fly back to S.D. and our Aussie adventure will be over. We know that a lot of you are disappointed about the lack of pictures on the website. We apologize, but reliable internet access has been a problem out here. As soon as we get back we will post most of the five million pictures we've taken out here. You'll just have to keep checking the website...
