Deployment, Day 11 - In port, Hawaii

After what seemed like an endless 9-day underway period, we pulled into Hawaii yesterday. I spent most of yesterday and last night hanging out in Waikiki before heading back to the ship. I got back here right before 3am. I have duty today, which explains why I decided to spend the night on the ship instead of out in a hotel somewhere.

I know it is a funny thing to hear, but I am getting pretty tired of Hawaii. This is the eighth time I've been here, and if we get to go again on the way home, it will be my ninth. Not that I don't like Hawaii, because I do. I think Hawaii is beautiful and there but except for one time I went to a wedding on the big island, I've never had a chance to leave Oahu. There is a lot to do here, but nothing that can't be accomplished after eight or nine trips.

Don't get me wrong; I am not complaining. Any chance to get off the ship and have a little liberty is fine by me.
