Where are my dentures?

Well, it's official. I am old.

I'm not talking about the fact that I'm three days away from my 31st birthday, but that doesn't help either.

Today I went in for my annual physical. I have to come in for follow-up appointments for BOTH my hearing and eyesight, which, according to their tests, have both gotten worse since my last physical. Not only that, but I complained to the doc about some lower back pain that I have been having lately. After checking out my back, he said there is a bone at the bottom of my spine that is not moving like it is supposed to. He recommended I see a chiropractor.

Wait a second. A chiropractor? I thought only middle-aged balding men with beer bellies and high blood pressure went to see chiropractors.

Okay, so I'm being a little dramatic. My sight and hearing are both still excellent, just not the same as when the baselines for comparison were set (when I was 21!). I am still in better health than most people my age, and the Navy is always overly cautious when it comes to the health of their pilots. It's just that within the last 12 months I've turned 30, bought a home, gotten married, and developed lower back pain. I never really dwell on the fact that I'm old, it's just that I've been hit with a lot of reminders today.

Just a passing mood; tomorrow I'll be back to the ol' positive attitude as always. Besides, I know the secret to staying youthful. Keep your brain challenged, stay out of the sun, take it easy on the rice, and hit the treadmill. Oh yeah, and keep the wife happy... :)
