good eats

Lady Anne and I are trying to cut down on eating out, not only to save money but to get ourselves back into shape after two months of post-wedding decadence.

Now that we can't eat all the food that we want, I'll just talk about it. Here are the top 5 foods I've eaten in the past two weeks:

5. Deep dish supreme pizza at Gino's East in Chicago. This would have been number one or close to it if they would not have uncharacteristically over-baked the pizza. However, usually outstanding!
4. Baskin Robbins chocolate ice cream. I know, this isn't really considered food, but sooo rich and addictive! Picture me head tilted to the side, drool dripping from the side of my mouth in a Homer Simpson-esque manner: "mmmmm...ice cream".
3. Chicken lettuce wraps at P.F. Chang's. Lady Anne insisted we place a second order so we could take it home with us!
2. Jumbo shrimp enchiladas at Miguel's Cocina, located in Coronado, CA. HUGE shrimps in the enchiladas, served in a cheesy jalapeno cream sauce. The busboys must love us there. Not only do we eat all our food, but Lady Anne cleans the plates for them.
1. Grilled salmon and risotto at Buon Appetito, located in San Diego's Little Italy. The salmon is perfectly grilled and the risotto has a hint of lemon. So good, Lady Anne will be taking me back there for my birthday on Thursday. Recommended by Julie from an aircraft carrier somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Thanks for the great recommendation, Julie, and fly safe out there!

Somehow talking about all this food didn't make me feel any better about cutting back.
