Well, it’s crunch time. My final OOD board is scheduled for this Friday. The ship’s Operations Officer, who doubles as the Senior Watch Officer and schedules all of the boards for the bridge watchstanders, told a couple of us OOD candidates last Sunday that we need to have our boards within the week. I requested to have mine on Friday, two days from today.
The last couple of days I have been doing nothing but studying. In fact, that is what I was doing just now before I decided to take a study break and make a blog entry. The good thing is that they switched me to a different watch section again, this time from the noon-to-five pm watch to the midnight-to-four am section. This allows me a whole bunch of free time during the day to spend studying.
I know this blog is pretty boring lately, with me talking about nothing but my watches and OOD board. As of today, we’ve been underway for 33 straight days and there’s really not much else going on. I can’t really talk about any of the missions we’re doing out here because of operational security. I really need a port, if only to have something else to talk about.
