The summer is now about a month old. Every couple of days I think about whether or not there is anything significant I want to put in my blog, and every time I come up with the big goose egg. I think that is true of most of he people whose blogs I track as well. In fact, I think I am probably the good one; it's been a slow blog season for everyone.
I like it though; to me it seems like everyone is out enjoying the summer and just having fun. I think most people make most of their blog entries when they are super busy, and they write to complain about it. I'm as guilty as the rest. Last summer I was on my deployment, and you all remember all the complaining I did then.
So anyway, what have I been up to this summer? I'm finally back in the cockpit and loving every minute of it. And just like every other summer, I've been living and dying with the Cubbies. So far, it's been a rollercoaster ride.
Last weekend was also my birthday. Lady Anne and I went out for breakfast that morning, and in the evening we walked over to Petco Park to watch the ballgame. Before the game, Tony Gwynn was being honored before his induction to the Hall of Fame next week. I am happy for him, but I still hold a grudge against him and his Padres for spanking the Cubs back in the '84 playoffs. The good news is that the Phillies spanked the Padres 12-4.
