We went up to Los Angeles for the Memorial Day weekend. We saw the musical Wicked at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, then went to Dodger Stadium and watched the free-falling Cubs drop yet another game. I don't know why I still watch that team.
It was a fun weekend, but the happiest part of any visit to L.A. is when it is time to drive back home to San Diego. I know that L.A. is the home of my beloved alma matter, but the congestion, the smog, the crime, the degenerate population...you can have it. Being up there is like having a front seat to the slow decay of humanity. I'll take my San Diego home over that place any day of the week.
