Just like those ESPN analysts who had once doubted the Bears, this weekend I found myself reaching out and partaking of the Bears Kool-Aid. As I watched Sunday's NFC championship game from my comfy seat in the sushi bar at Seau's restaurant in San Diego, I took a sip, and it tasted pretty sweet.
I have to admit, I had my doubts about Chicago's ability to stop the prolific New Orleans offense, especially considering how the defense fared against Seattle in the divisional playoffs. I also had my doubts as to which Rex would show up to the game. The Bears came through though, despite a less-than-spectacular first half offensive performance. The defense was what carried them this time, forcing four turnovers and giving the offense great field position all game. The Bears also only had one penalty all game, a false start in the second half.
I do feel bad about New Orleans; their team really was the feel-good story of the year (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2738832). However, I can't be more excited about the Bears' return to the Super Bowl in 21 years. It's just too bad the Bears can't play the Saints in the big dance. If the Bears lose, I'd feel better if they lose to my boy Reggie Bush and the Saints than to the elder of the two evil Manning brothers.

Did you like how Reggie Bush bolstered the Chicago defense?
